AM-FM Radio WBCH celebrated 50 years of broadcasting in 2008. The station originated in 1958 when several prominent businessmen determined the need for Barry County to have its own radio station. Ken Radant has been with the station since the beginning. In 1969, he and his wife, Marge, purchased the station. Over the years they were joined by their son, Steve, and daughter-in-law, Sue. Newsman, Dave McIntyre, has been with WBCH for 50 years. He and his voice are well known throughout the area. WBCH-FM 100.1 is Country Music. WBCH-AM 1220 is talk radio. WBCH is locally and family owned. The station is community oriented and prides itself on serving the needs of the listening area. WBCH’s offices are located at 119 West State Street in downtown Hastings. The transmitter is located on M-37 south of Hastings. |
